Home and absences

Home shows what needs the family’s attention today. Cards only appear when they’re relevant, so Home stays short.

  • Payment problems: if a payment failed, with a button to fix it.
  • Join now: when an online class is live.
  • Announcements and closures from you.
  • Report an absence (see below).
  • Homework due soon.
  • Book a time with the teacher when a parents’ evening is open for booking, showing how many teachers they’ve booked.
  • Where they are: a quick look at their current lesson or juz.
  • Daily tracker: for classes that track salah and dhikr (see below).
  • Reports, term wrapped, badges, merits and recent exams.
  • Ask about [child] on WhatsApp, with example questions to tap. See WhatsApp for parents.
  1. On Home, choose Report an absence.

  2. What’s happening: Not coming in, Finishing early or Starting late.

  3. Who: pick the child, or more than one if siblings are affected.

  4. When:

    • For an absence, Choose dates, from and to.
    • For an early finish or late start, pick the day and the time: Collection time or Arriving at about. For an early finish, also say how they’re Going home, and Who’s collecting? if you like.
  5. Add a Reason and a Note for the teacher if you like, then send it.

The teacher sees it on their register, and on the Absence reports card. A reported absence doesn’t count against the child’s attendance. An early finish or late start is passed on to the teacher, but doesn’t excuse the time missed.

If a child’s class tracks daily salah and dhikr, Home shows a tracker card. Parents can record their child’s salah, surahs and dhikr for today and yesterday (not further back). Teachers see these marked Entered by parent.

Adult students record their own; parents can’t record for an adult student.

When a child is marked absent or late on today’s register, parents who’ve signed in and turned on notifications get an alert. Families choose which alerts they get under More → Notifications.
