Discounts and sibling discounts
A discount is an amount taken off a family’s fees. You can give one when you approve a new family, add one later, or set a rule so brothers and sisters get money off automatically.
When you approve a family
Section titled “When you approve a family”-
In Education → Applications, open the application and choose Approve (or Approve family for brothers and sisters).
-
Choose Add a discount.
-
Set a Monthly discount, in pounds or as a percentage, and an Admission fee discount. Switch on Waive to waive the admission fee completely.
-
Choose how they’ll pay, then Approve & send link (or Approve for cash or bank).
Approving a single child from their application shows a simpler form: just a Monthly and Admission amount in pounds, and a reason.
Families still on Payment (approved but not yet paid) can be given a discount with Set discount. It applies to the whole family.
Give a discount to a current student
Section titled “Give a discount to a current student”-
Open the student’s passport and go to the Billing tab.
-
In Discounts, set the Monthly and Admission amounts, and add a Note to remember why, such as “Hardship” or “Staff child”.
-
Save.
If they pay by card or Direct Debit, Labbaik changes their Stripe payment from their next bill.
Automatic sibling discounts
Section titled “Automatic sibling discounts”There are two settings, and you can use either or both.
| Setting | Where | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Sibling discount | Applications → Registration settings (the gear) | A fixed amount off the monthly fee for each extra child, such as £5. It’s filled in for you when you approve a family, and you can still change it. |
| Family discounts | Open a programme, choose [Programme] settings, then Payments → Sibling discounts | A percentage off from the second (or third) child: % off monthly/term fee and % off admission fee. Switch on Enable family discounts. It applies to every programme. |
The % off monthly/term fee is taken off termly fees automatically. For monthly fees, they’re suggested when you set a family’s discount, and you can accept or change them. A discount you set by hand always comes first.
Seeing a family’s discounts
Section titled “Seeing a family’s discounts”The family passport shows everything together under Fees & discounts: fees before discount, the monthly and admission discounts, and what the Family pays.
